Architectural Design for Your Dream Home

This project is one I'm particularly proud of from my 35 years in California, as it truly represents my philosophy of 'Form and Function.

This home is a custom-designed Tuscan-style Mediterranean Villa. I was commissioned to create an estate for the ultra-luxury market, in a community similar to Calabasas, for a client who wanted an 'Old-World' feel without sacrificing any modern comfort.

This was a comprehensive design-build service. As both the architect and builder, I personally managed every phase, from the initial architectural sketches to the final construction. This allowed me to ensure every detail, from the hand-placed stone on the turret to the framing of the arched entryways, was executed perfectly.

This is a substantial estate of over 6,000 square feet, completed in the early 2000s. It’s a showcase of how classic, timeless 'Form' can be integrated with the 'Function' of a modern, luxury lifestyle."

  As the founder of Form and Function, I integrate green building practices as a core part of my design process. It starts with the site itself—I'll orient the home to maximize natural light, which reduces the need for artificial lighting and creates a more uplifting space. My services often include specifying high-efficiency windows and advanced insulation to create a tight thermal envelope. A home that doesn't leak energy is a home that costs less to run. I also have extensive experience sourcing sustainable materials, from recycled-content countertops to low-VOC (volatile organic compound) paints and finishes, which ensures the indoor air quality is healthy for my clients."
